My Fair Lady

My ultimate favorite movie is My Fair Lady. I have watched it countless times. I know the lines, and the music word for word and yet, I always watch as if the ending is going to be different. Just writing about it now makes me want to put in the DVD and watch it.

When I was coloring this Tilda I was humming "I could've danced all night..." My girls rolled thier eyes that Mommy was singing but I was surprised to see they actually knew the song to hum along too! They probably were born knowing it!

My photos do not catch how shimmery this card truly is . The base card is Stampin' UP's Shimmer White and the DP is DCWV The Luxury Stack, which is all metallic and pearlized paper. Of course I had to shimmer her dress and hair band with Crystal stickles too. Her skin tones are done with Copics, EOO, E21, R20 and the remainder is done with Prisma Pencils. The sentiment inside is from Stampin Up! I have to say this one is one of my favorites.

I'm also very excited about this weekend. I have collected enough colors to give coloring with distress inks a try. I always love learning something new. I recieved this adorable Tilda in my Spring Kit and it arrived with other amazing Magnolia stamps that I will be playing with this weekend. That was the first time I ever ordered the kit and I will definately do it again.

Well I am off the pop my DVD in...I hope you like My Fair Lady Tilda.

Honey Bee Happy!

Hello Everyone! I had a dry spell of a bit but I think this week's challenges helped me out of my rutt.

I have a question, do you color your images first then find the paper to match or do you find your paper then color your image? I'm asking because a week or so ago when my friend Suzanne came over she watched me as I searched for paper to assemble my stamped and colored image. I never really noticed that I color before I pull paper out. I guess I do it this way because I am always excited to stamp and color. I always have in the back of my mind an idea of the paper I want to use and figure that I have sifted through my "stash" for so long I have an idea of what I own.

Anyway , this past week, in giving some thought to what Suzanne suggested, I decided to do the opposite for me. I sat and pulled paper and accessories together...then....I went blank. STUCK in RUTT!!

I guess my brain is backwards, ask my family and friends and they will agree. LOL! Honey Tilda arrived in the mail this week and without second thought I sat down and just colored. I found the paper later...the Mojo Monday challenge just helped in putting it together. She's colored with Prisma Pencils and her wings are stickled. What do you think?

My First Copic Tilda!

I usually color in Prisma pencils but I have a handful of Copics. I have been collecting them slowly via trades and purchasing a little at a time. My color pallette is finally getting closer to colors I can blend. SO here is my first Tilda colored all in Copics! I'm so excited!

I was just playing and decided to put her on a quick card. Somehow I was back on Lavendars again for a base card and since I was playing, I put my Copics away before I can list what I used. What do you think?
This one will need to stay hidden tonight. I need to make one more and sneak them into my girls bookbags but that will be tommorrow, it's way past my bedtime.

What my play time produced...

It was just one card! My dear friend Suzanne came over and I loved having her come by to stamp and play. She was familiar with Maggies but yesterday she stamped a few images of her own...knowing her she will be joining me at the Magnolia-licious Group soon. She enables be constantly and now it was my turn! LOL!

Here is what my own whole day of playing, produced...

Somedays cards come together in a heartbeat, other days I'm just brain dead or way to picky. Yesterday it was picky. I must have colored at least 4 Tildas before deciding on this one. I used a great sketch from Papertake Weekly Challenge #38 and Tilda is colored in Prisma pencils. After all is said and done I realized she was good for a couple more challenges. Magnolia Stamp Lovers for the color purple and Just Magnolia wk50 for the use of punches. All in all, it was great to get some stamping in on the last days of my vacation.

Tommorrow it's back to work. URGH! My girls are realizing the same about Spring Break and are walking around with such sad faces this morning.

PS. Bummed it appears I missed out the Magnolia Stamp Lovers, oh well maybe next time...

Play day!

Happy Saturday everyone! It's absolutely beautiful outside. I had a choice this morning, mow the lawn or sit and work on a new card. Bet you can guess which one I chose! I'm actually having a Play Day. My dear friend is coming over and though we do spend more time chatting then stamping we are going play today. She is soooo talented and I know she has a blog but hasn't updated in a long while. We are going to work on that today too. So maaybe I can send you over to hers soon.

My other dear friend Tracy and I swapped some images recently and this is one of them. She is a cupcake fanatic, something I recently learned. She gave me this Tina Wenke Mouse about two weeks ago and I colored it that night but just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.

Well this weeks Friday Sketch Challenge fixed that. Here is the sketch. Happy Birthday Mouse is colored in Prisma pencils.

Challenges:

Friday Sketch Challenge

Roses on Paper- Layers

Simon Says Stamp- For a child

Cupcake Craft Challenges- Make your own Flowers

Well I had a great week with my daughters. I love taking Spring Break with them. It's the best time in FL. It's not to hot and being outside feels good. One thing I didn't get to do was stamp much. I actually thought I would get some BONUS time. HA! HA! I was able to finish ONE and bearly get it in for some challenges.

Here's my little sweetheart. She's colored with Prisma pencils. I love her socks!

On Spring Break

I feel terrible for not posting anything new and if you saw my table right now it's not for lack of working on anything. My girls are on Spring Break this week and I have taken time off from work to spend it with them. We are having a great Staycation. We have been to the beach, fountains and movies. I even stamped a handful of "Dolls" (Magnolias) for them and we sat and colored them. Today we are off to the Children's Science Museam.

I have a few cards half way done. They were actually for some challenges but I think the time has past on some. I will have to check but they were still fun to work on! I will share soon...

Next week it should be back to work URGH! and some late night stamping, YEAH!

Off to wake my munchkins....
