Magnolia and Me Under the Sea

Just a quick little post. I have all these cards that I made earlier this year that I just haven't shared so I better get to it.  Some of you have already seen this one on Facebook yesterday. I was overwhelmed with all likes and sweet comments. Thank you!
I have been playing with lots of stamps from different companies and love them all, but Magnolias will always have a special place in my heart. They were the first stamps that I played with when I first started blogging and learning copics. I can probably color them with my eyes closed now! LOL!

Hair: E49, E47, E44, E40
Skin: E11, E00, E000, R20
Dress: B06, B04, B02, E55, E53, E51

A Perfect Spring Day!

Hello friends. Well I am back from vacation and from the hospital. Yes, I said hospital. The odd weather days during vacation sent me to the hospital with an upper respiratory infection. But good news, I am on the mend. In fact, today is about the first day that I didn't really cough as much. It is a perfect Spring Day. I finally got to return to work too and honestly I am just worn out.  I can't wait til my energy returns too. I'm dying to sit down and color. I have thank you cards to create for my fabulous nurses. They were truly beautiful ladies with big hearts.
I'm sharing two quick cards with you today. I made them a while ago but it wasn't time to show off Spring/Summer like cards in the middle of winter. Do you do that? Sometimes I just want to color a specific image not related to any time of year. That was this. I think it was Thanksgiving and I was making these. I hope you like them!

As always, I love to hear what you think. Hope you have a great week!

Merry Christmas Magnolia

Just a quick little post today, the days are whipping past me and I have much more to share with you. Tonight I'm going to sit down and get my Christmas cards filled out and ready for the mail. I know this is going to sound odd for someone who makes cards all year round but I rarely give them out, LOL. Well this year I decided to change that and part of my New Year resolution is to do the same all year round next year. Let's see!
Well here is another Magnolia cutie. I just love the ribbons in her hair. This will be one of many going out tonight. Hmmmm... but to who?? She's colored in Copic markers and once again using the Authentique Festive paper. I think that is my favorite paper this year.
I'm off to stir the beds again and wake the kids for school. Have a great Tuesday!

Christmas countdown and Oozak Challenge

Hello Bloggy friends! The countdown has begun! 25 days til Christmas! Good thing I got most of my shopping done on Black Friday. This weekend is the start of cookies! I pulled all  my great holiday tins out with the Christmas decorations and they are ready to be filled! Gotta admit I can't wait to make my fav Ginger snaps! YUM!

Well I hope you like this cute little countdown project. I found this great tutorial here. I thought it was the perfect idea for the new challenge over at Oozak challenges. If you haven't joined us at Oozak you really need to check it out. Rusty gives out the most amazing prizes! This month's challenge is super easy too! ANYTHING GOES! with a twist...add red. Easy right?!

A couple of details about my countdown calendar....Well I know you recognize Magnolia's Tilda from the Little Christmas Collection. The pattern paper is by Authentique called Festive. Tilda is colored in copics and my chipboard numbers with Fired Brick from Distress inks. The most challenging part of putting this together was figuring out what numbers go on what block so that you are able to countdown. It's a bit of a puzzle!

Don't forget to join us at Oozak Challenges. Come see what else the rest of the design team has to inspire! and join us! I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Trick or Treat

Hello! The spooky day is nearing...My girls got thier first taste of the trick or treating over the weekend. So many events were happening around the area. This year I have a devil and and Pirate/Wench??? I want to say more of a wench because her pirate outfit is more colorful than a pirate.

Well Tilda is dressed as an adorable Tiger. This is not a Halloween stamp and I can't recall what collection she came out in but it certainly can be used here and I did! She is just too cute.

I'm a little bummed I couldn't get better pictures of her. They seem a little dark to me but I just couldn't seem to get the right lighting for her, sorry. I was tempted to take her outside to photograph but we are still really windy from Hurricane Sandy passing out coastline.

I can't remember where I found this little box but I "pinned" it so if you want you can find me here.

Tilda Witch Paperbag

Hello Everyone! It’s officially October! Time to start figuring out what my girls will be for Halloween. At what age to do they stop wanting to go out for Halloween? I’m ready for it to be now, LOL!! Funny thing is they don’t even eat all the candy they collect. They count it, separate it into favorites, trade pieces with each other then that’s it…Just a couple of nibbles but nothing special.  Weird Kids I tell ya! Actually I did the same but I ate it too! My hips are still showing it, LOL!! So it’s a good thing and I am sure their dentist likes it too.

Have I ever told you that I have a stamping twin? She‘s my best bud ,Tracy. This weekend we got together for some play time, always fun!  I call her my twin because we could weeks at a time not seeing eachother  then we post either the same sketch with the same paper or we color the same. That happened this weekend with this Sitting Witch Tilda. Tracy pulled her colored image out and talked about creating something with a paperbag… I about fell off my chair and then showed her the pics I had saved in my blogger drafts. Then she almost fell off her chair laughing. Same image!! Except her little witch was colored in purple hair. I’m sure she will pop up soon but for now you can show her some love with her coffin and Vampire Edwin here.

So a couple of details, I got this idea from Claudia Rosa and her Christmas paper bag. Love her blog too! I love this Echo Park Halloween paper. It’s about 2 years old and this is pretty much the end of it. I think I used every bit of it and now I am sad….I do have one more card to share with this paper later on…She is colored in Copic markers and the handmade flowers are an MFT die. LOVE how quick they came together. I will be using a lot more of those dies for sure.  Love to hear what you think…

Hello Fall?? maybe...

Hello Fall...maybe?? I don't get much of a Fall or Winter here. It's more like Spring and Summer only, but Fall happens to be one of my favorite seasons. When I lived up north I loved watching the leaves change, feeling the crisp breeze. It was Hot Apple Cider in the fall then Hot Cocoa for the winter.

Don't get me wrong though...I don't want to go back to the cold. I still love wearing shorts in November! So my way of bringing Fall home is by decorating in it's rich colors, I burn the best Pumpkin Spice candle from Yankee candle too! AND I make cards and projects!

Here is my newest Maggie. I got to experimenting with some colors with her sweater. I honestly wish I wrote the colors down because I don't remember what I did but I like it! What do you think?

Edwin enjoying his plane

Happy Monday all!! Hope most, at least in the USA, are enjoying the Labor Day. What are your plans for today? Today I'm working on some home improvement projects....even though ...my crafting table is calling my name. Not sure which battle of will is going to win there, LOL! It is labor day and all.
Here's a quick little card I colored up. Edwin is so cute with his little plane. Since I have girls I don't normally get drawn to color boyish cards but lately I find them to be a nice change.
Let's see...a little details...the paper is from Queen and Co. . my stars are die cut from Spellbinders and I colored in Copics. I had colored him a while back so I don't remember the colors exactly but here goes:
Hair: C9, C7, C5, C3
Jumper: B97,B95,B93
Shirt: C3, C1, C00
Plane and Socks: R29, R27, R24, R22
Hope you enjoy your day!!

Magnolia School Days

Do you know who Flat Stanley is? I have to admit I was not introduced to the guy until my girls were in 2nd Grade. My daughter came home with this guest and we had to show him the town!! Ha Ha! He has it pretty good. Since then I have seen many pictures of him in far off places. He's definatley a world traveler. We took him to Disney. Many of the cast members recognized him too!
My daughters are now in the 5th grade but I thought my photo was fun for this quick little picture frame with Tilda from Magnolia Stamps.I created this for Magnolia-licious highlites challenge this month of Back to School. Tilda has the cutest braids!!I had this $1 frame in my stash along with the last of some of my favorite school paper from Bo Bunny. I was sad to use it all up but then what is the paper for, Lol!!!

Baby Tilda

It's Monday! Urgh!! I started it by waking up late and almost not having enough time to get me and the kids ready! Fortunately they were doing better than me this morning and we got out on time! LOL!!

Well how many of you guessed Baby Tilda for today from yesterday's post? Here she is and she is just adorable! My littlest baby girl was a paci- sucker and Tilda looks just like her with her tight little curls and pacifier. Baby Tilda is done in distress re-inkers only today. No pinks to play with in the DI markers yet... I can't wait for my markers to arrive. Baby Edwin in my previous post has wanting to play!

I'll be teaching this card along with Baby Edwin in a Distress Ink watercoloring class in April at The Scrapbook Store and More in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. If your in the neighborhood, come on in!

Love to hear what you think!

Baby Edwin and my return!

Hello Everyone!! I have missed you all!! Yesterday was my first official day of crafting in over a month. I know I mentioned that I have images that I was going to put together and post but honestly my arm just kept taking a turn for the worse and the last thing I wanted to do was type.

I'm not 100% better but I missed playing with my wonderful stamps too much and I was afraid Spring and Easter would pass me by and I didn't get to post some of my projects.

I had a wonderful time yesterday, our local scrapbook store, A Scrapbook Store and More had a St. Patty's Day Crop! There was food, lots of friends and so much fun! I had my fingers crossed the entire time wishing I would be the winner of the FULL set of Distress Inks Markers but alas I wasn't. Boo Hoo!! I hope Nancy enjoys them!!

While I wait for my Pre-order to arrive, I have been playing with a small handful that Paula, the store owner came back from CHA with so here it is!!

I've seen a little chatter about DI Markers and watercoloring and some suggestions for different types of paper. Well here is my chatter...I use the Canson Montval 140lb Watercolor paper. I love this paper with all my DI's, it absolutely blends beautifully!!! AND you DON'T have to wet your paper before hand to blend the DI markers.

As I mentioned I had a limited supply of them so Baby Edwin's outfit, stars and crown are done in DI Markers. The rest is re-inkers.
Outfit: Tumbled Glass and Faded Jeans
Crown and Stars: Wild Honey

This is one of two cards for my next class that I teach over at The Scrapbook Store for April. I hope markers arrive before class. I definatley want to show them off! If you are around please come join me. I bet you can guess which is the second card for class? LOL!! Answer will come tommorrow!

Like I said, I truly missed chatting, blogging...whatever you want to call it. I'm excited to get moving again!

Dutch Dare: Dots and Stripes
Gingersnap Creations: Border Punches
