You are my Sunshine

Finally Sunshine! It was so nice not having to run from my car to the front door after work. I even parked farther down the driveway just to enjoy the moment. LOL! It's the little things that make me happy...
This is my first A la a Mode by Stamping Bella. She brings a little bit of sunshine with my favorite flower. I've told this story before but it's been a little bit for my new followers... Sunflowers remind me of my Gramma. She lived in a fairly big city in NJ. All sidewalks and very little grass. Gramma dropped a sunflower seed in the crack of the sidewalk near her door when I was at least ten years old or so. The flower grew at least 5ft high and bloomed. It was so unusual that the local paper photographed it. She brought a little sunshine to the city. Sunflowers always remind of my amazing Gramma. She's always in my heart.
Hope your day is full of Sunshine....if not, Dance in the Rain!

Beach Babe

WOW! There was no playing at the beach yesterday here in Florida. We got quite a surprise with one of the outer bands of Tropical Storm Issac. It was a surprise because the weatherman said conditions were supposed to improve throughout the day and it just just the opposite!

I had to roll up my pants to walk in almost knee high water to reach my car. Fortunately I was in high ground in the parking lot and was able to get out and pick up my munchkins from school. It took us over an hour to get home from what is usually a 15minute ride. Crazy!

So this beach babe must be at a beach in Bora Bora, LOL!! She's my Summer fav from Greeting Farm. I can't believe how fast this year is going. I know many of you the summer is coming to an end soon. I get to wear my swimsuit a little longer than most but I always look forward to the cooler nights!

My thoughts and prayers for those still in the path of the storm and to those who got hit pretty heard yesterday...

Magnolia School Days

Do you know who Flat Stanley is? I have to admit I was not introduced to the guy until my girls were in 2nd Grade. My daughter came home with this guest and we had to show him the town!! Ha Ha! He has it pretty good. Since then I have seen many pictures of him in far off places. He's definatley a world traveler. We took him to Disney. Many of the cast members recognized him too!
My daughters are now in the 5th grade but I thought my photo was fun for this quick little picture frame with Tilda from Magnolia Stamps.I created this for Magnolia-licious highlites challenge this month of Back to School. Tilda has the cutest braids!!I had this $1 frame in my stash along with the last of some of my favorite school paper from Bo Bunny. I was sad to use it all up but then what is the paper for, Lol!!!

Happy Birthday Wishes!

Happy Birthday Lexi!!!! My baby is 10 today! I have no more babies in single digits :-( unless you want to count my fur baby, Percy, LOL!!! Today we are having a mini celebration for her with just family. Her PARTY is in a couple weeks. We scheduled it that way in order for her to get a chance to meet up with her school friends. er birthday lands so close to the first day of school. But it turns out with the stormy weather it was actually a really good idea!
This card is totally her! No....she's not a Dino, LOL!! But she is bright and a colorful character! and purple is one of her favorite colors.
His name is Party Fergus...his name makes me giggle, it's so cute. He's colored of course in Copics and that paper is Echo Park. I hope he brings a smile to my babygirl's face and to yours too. I'm off to have some cake!

My School Girls

If you wander around Facebook and then you already got a sneak peak at this frame. The night I finished it I was so excited about the way it came out I had to share it right away.

I had to have this digi from Saturated Canary as soon as I saw it. I reminded me so much of my girls except for the glasses are on the wrong little one, lol! In past posts I mentioned that I subconsciously color my images in my little ones likeness. There was nothing subconscious about this one...and when I was finished and showed it to them they smiled. Lexi said, "I'm glad you think of us when you color Mommy."  Little do they know I think of them all the time!

My sister suggested I frame this one. She knew I was likely not to give it away if it was a card. So I left some open spaces for this year's school pictures and it's framed and ready to go!

Back to school and back to blogging!

Hello Everyone!!! I hope that everyone had or is still having a great summer vacation. Ours here officially ended Monday with the first day of school. My girls were excited to return because they made safety patrol this year and they are considered the "big kids" of the school. Too funny!!!

We had a wonderful summer! I had family and friends that I haven't seen in years visit and for the first time in too many years to count I went back to my hometown for a visit too.  WOW that was a trip! So many memories...

Anyway, I couldn't give up stamping completely while I was away! That's just crazy talk!! and coloring....well it will be obvious that I got some in since I have bunches to post and catch up with you. So for starters here is one of my new favorites for back to school. I just love his oversized glasses! He's from Your Next Stamp, I was inspired to have him by my stamping friend, Wendy.

I hope your munchkins are excited about school too! I wonder how long it really is going to last in this house, LOL!! I give it one more day before they are dragging feet to get there.

Thank for stopping by on my first day back! Love to hear what you think!

Thanks for the heads up YNS!!! Entering your Books Challenge.
