Birthday Wishes

I love Christmas! It's is truly the best time of year, but I couldn't bring myself to make another Christmas card this week. I have images colored for Christmas but my brain is working past the holiday and on to other events. I have a Valentine card waiting just for you to see, crazy huh?!!

I have 3 wonderful sisters. I don't tell them that often but they are. Each of them have completely different personalities. Well one of them had a birthday a few days ago. I won't get to see her til Christmas so I don't feel bad that I don't have her card for her yet. OH and this card isn't it. THIS one is for my other sister, her birthday is in January. This one fits my little sister. I still have to make my older one hers...I will post soon. You'll see by the cards how different my sisters are...LOL!

I have quite a collection of Copics now. So I have no excuse in not playing with them. It does take a little retraining since I have always colored with distress inks. I don't think I did too bad. My friend Tracy gave me a few new pointers and I think that really made a difference. She works from light to dark. Thanks Tracy!! I always love our play time when we get the chance!

This card sparkles! I wish there was really a way to get all the sparkle. The pink and blue cardstock is glittered paper. I made the pink rose of the same paper. The DP has silver mirror writing and Tilda's gift bow is stickled. I would love to hear what you think?

The Pixie Cottage Sparkles and Shines!

I have two post to share with you today. Truly Scrumptious is just below this one, here. Please stop by too!

The Pixie Cottage has another fabulous challenge this week. We have a fantastic sketch and/ or Sparkle and Shine. I decided to sparkle and shine this week. Isn't this the one of the sweetest Hannah stamps you have ever seen! She is available here and a must have!

Martha Stewart has a great holly punch and I was able to punch some really fun holly to go with glitzy gold star and mats. I colored my lace with distress inks and a spritzer. I actually did it a few months ago and don't recall what color I used, but it was a perfect color for this card!

This season I had alot of fun creating Christmas cards and now it's time to mail them off. It's so hard parting with them.

Hope you like and come and join us to Sparkle and Shine or our sketch challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Challenges I want to join:

A Spoonful of Sugar: Christmas Card
Dutch Dare Challenge: Christmas

Truly Scrumptious Frame it!

Well I took that literally! We have a fabulous and final sketch for 2010 over at Truly Scrumptious this week and the optional challenge is to frame it. I love this frame! Not for any obivious reason like my favorite sweet maggies but for a whole lot of other reasons.

To start, Blowing Bubbles Magnolia was colored about 6 or more months ago. I have a lot of images that I just love to color. I hope you can see but her wings are all glitter and sparkle and so is her trumpet?, not sure what to call it.

The paper just arrived at our new local craft store. It's by Bo Bunny and it's GORGEOUS! I need to get more! I used my Slice Machine to cut the word JOY out. I have had this little machine for a year now and just never really take it out. I need to change that.

Oh and finally another favorite I embossed the edges of my paper for the appearance of frost. I got that nifty technique from Magnolia Ink. I flipped/mirrored out sketch, I hope you can see it.

Well what to do think? I took this over to my local scrapbook shoppe and she held on to it for display. When I returned on Tuesday so that I can take it home and photograph it, she locked the door on me!!!

Come join us this for our last challenge this year. AND don't forget to return back in January for a New Year of fun!!

Paper Playtime:Snowflakes

Watercoloring class

I was invited to teach a class at our new local scrapbook store, A Scrapbook Store and More! (website coming soon!) Since leaving SU I haven't taught a class or workshop for at least 6months and last night I realized that I missed it. I had so much fun with a group of wonderful ladies that didn't give themselves enough credit. They picked up on distress watercoloring like old pros!!

Here are the cards we worked on. I kept it the cards simple so we can focus on the coloring. I really enjoyed watching them all get the hang of my favorite medium. I bought some of my favorite Magnolia cards for samples and I know I have at least the Paula (owner) and Karen hooked! LOL!!!

These stamps are from Heartfelt Creations and wow they have gorgeous stamps! Just another addiction....

Thanks again for a great time, ladies!

A Pink Christmas

Today over at Truly Scrumptious we have another great sketch challenge and we want you to Think Pink! I'm happy to think pink when these last few days I was feeling really blue with the flu and finally started feeling normal again yesterday. I even ventured out to my local Scrapbook store. I took a handful of Tildas and sat in Paula's shoppe chatting and enjoying my time off this week while they kids were in school for thier last day before Thanksgiving break. I hope you can see in the photos all the shimmer in this card. The base card and the trim around Tilda was already a shimmery pink and Tilda was sprayed with my homemade shimmer mist. I added additional glitter to her fur.

Don't forget to stop over to Truly Scrumptious and join us these next two weeks for some fun!

A Spoon Full of Sugar: Anything Goes

Pixie Cottage Challenge #41

This week The Pixie Cottage has a fantastic sketch and the option of something sweet. Instead of food, because it's diet time. I decided on the sweet smell of roses. This was my first time I ever colored a Rose, I was pleased with the outcome. I hope you are too.

Isn't it a beautiful rose. It's Simply the Best, and you can find her here. She is colored in Copic markers which I am still a novice in too. BUT I am always up for a challenge...LOL!

This card will be going in the mail to my sister, Emely. Last Monday she went for Quad bypass Surgery and I am happy to say she did great! Okay well I just love this weeks Just Magnolia Sketch and I tried my hand again at stitching AND in a circle for all things! See my cool flower...I didn't make it. Truly Scrumptious Challenge #42

It's Wednesday and here we are again with another fun sketch with the option of creating an easel card. I love easel cards, well I guess you can see that since my last few have been easels...lol!

This week we are being sponsored by Robin's Fetish and the digital I used is called "In the Cold". SO...rumor has it the Red is a hard color to play with in Copics and me with so much experience in Copics (NOT!!!) decided to take on the challenge. I'm happy with the way it turned out. It was a little scary though.

Please stop by and join us at Truly Scrumptious in these next two weeks. Our DT has some beautiful inspiration and I would love to see yours!

EDIT: Oops forgot to add my challenges

Getting Ready for Christmas

Wow! Can you believe how close we are to Christmas? I don't even want to count the days. It seems like right after Halloween it just comes so fast.

I love Christmas though, I love the looks on my daughters faces when I start pulling out all the decoration for inside and outside. We have little traditions in our home, making cookies, family tree decorating and driving the neighborhood looking at other homes beautifully decorated. Oooo...I'm all excited now! How long til Christmas? I can't wait! LOL!

I follow some amazing blogs and the cutest easel card was posted here. Iris' card was a Halloween card but I have to give this unique easel a try. It's a little tricky but worth it! I've had Sneaky Tilda and Tilda with gifts colored for about two weeks. I wanted so much to put them together on a card and had already matched them to the new Bo Bunny paper. I LOVE Bo Bunny paper. We finally have a new Scrapbook shoppe in town and she's carrying it! I'm so excited to have someone local now. Anyway back to Tilda, they remind me of my girls so I colored them with my daughters in mind. My oldest Bianca has dark brown hair and Lexy is a my crazy red head. I love the way this turned out! I hope you do too!

Challenges I'm entering:
Pollycraft Challenge: Anything Goes
Stamp Something: Punches,Dies
The Secret Crafter: Distress used to color images

TADA!!!

Introducing my first Pixie Cottage DT post!! I'm very excited to be a part of the design team, they are a group of amazing talent. Come on by and join us for this week's challenge. Its a sketch challenge with the added option of embossing. I was so excited in putting this card together that I forgot the embossing part, oops!

Isn't this little bear the cutest bear you have ever seen? He is so loving that cupcake! He was one of many gorgeous stamps that arrived in my package and I had to ink him up. You can find him here.

I was thinking a my dearest stamping friend Tracy when I colored him. First because she is an amazing with her Copics and second because she loves cupcakes! I have a rusty hand with my Copics and I ask her for tons of advice all the time.

Thanks for joining me on my first DT post, now head on over and join our challenge and let me see all your amazing work! I'm looking forward to it.

Pumpkin Easel and Exciting News!!!

Have you ever own something in your craft stash that you got it because you know an idea for it will come to you eventually. AND you hold on to it for YEARS spring cleaning after spring cleaning ...then boom! Finally! The idea!

Well that is my pumpkin. It's a blank wooden paintable shape. I believe I purchase it when my girls were 3 and 4 because I was going to let them paint it. We painted ghosts instead...and I just held on to the pumpkin.

And now here comes along this adorable Tilda. Her name is debatable. I believe she may be called Witch Tilda but certainly looks like a Pilgrim to me. Well finally my pumpkin feels the love after 5 years and becomes my template for the easel card.

I cut some oval out and embossed them to create more of a pumkin with texture. Tilda is colored in distress inks.

NOW for my exciting news...besides the new look to my blog. Anyone notice my sidebar??? I was chosen as a Junior Designer for THE PIXIE COTTAGE!!! I am over the top excited. They have a wonderful challenge blog and Michelle the owner of it all, has a great store, featuring many stamp companies and Pixie Cottage digital and rubber stamps. I have a HUGE wishlist!!
I certainly hope you will join me in thier challenges and stop by and take a look at all the goodies. I can't wait to get started!!
Until then, I hope you enjoy my pumpkin...
Challenges:
Totally Tilda: Glitter and Sparkle

Let it snow...

Snowflakes are part of the theme over at Truly Scrumptious. This week we have a fabulous sketch to go along with it. Come on over and play with us!!

Over the weekend my friends and I got together for a play date. We stamped, colored and gabbed and we did a little image swapping too. This little cutie was one I came home with. It's from Gillian Roberts and now its in my future cart for purchase. Did I mention that my dear friends are also enablers!!

I colored this little bear in my favorite distress inks and I hope you can tell that I flocked the hat and snow. This card really sparkles and the paper is pearlized. Not sure this one will make it in the mail come Holiday season...
