Birthday Wishes

I love Christmas! It's is truly the best time of year, but I couldn't bring myself to make another Christmas card this week. I have images colored for Christmas but my brain is working past the holiday and on to other events. I have a Valentine card waiting just for you to see, crazy huh?!!

I have 3 wonderful sisters. I don't tell them that often but they are. Each of them have completely different personalities. Well one of them had a birthday a few days ago. I won't get to see her til Christmas so I don't feel bad that I don't have her card for her yet. OH and this card isn't it. THIS one is for my other sister, her birthday is in January. This one fits my little sister. I still have to make my older one hers...I will post soon. You'll see by the cards how different my sisters are...LOL!

I have quite a collection of Copics now. So I have no excuse in not playing with them. It does take a little retraining since I have always colored with distress inks. I don't think I did too bad. My friend Tracy gave me a few new pointers and I think that really made a difference. She works from light to dark. Thanks Tracy!! I always love our play time when we get the chance!

This card sparkles! I wish there was really a way to get all the sparkle. The pink and blue cardstock is glittered paper. I made the pink rose of the same paper. The DP has silver mirror writing and Tilda's gift bow is stickled. I would love to hear what you think?

The Pixie Cottage Sparkles and Shines!

I have two post to share with you today. Truly Scrumptious is just below this one, here. Please stop by too!

The Pixie Cottage has another fabulous challenge this week. We have a fantastic sketch and/ or Sparkle and Shine. I decided to sparkle and shine this week. Isn't this the one of the sweetest Hannah stamps you have ever seen! She is available here and a must have!

Martha Stewart has a great holly punch and I was able to punch some really fun holly to go with glitzy gold star and mats. I colored my lace with distress inks and a spritzer. I actually did it a few months ago and don't recall what color I used, but it was a perfect color for this card!

This season I had alot of fun creating Christmas cards and now it's time to mail them off. It's so hard parting with them.

Hope you like and come and join us to Sparkle and Shine or our sketch challenge. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Challenges I want to join:

A Spoonful of Sugar: Christmas Card
Dutch Dare Challenge: Christmas
Stamp Insanity: Lace
The Stamp Man: Red, Green, Gold, 3 colors for Christmas
Stamp Something: Christmas Colors

The Secret Crafter: Christmas

Truly Scrumptious Frame it!

Well I took that literally! We have a fabulous and final sketch for 2010 over at Truly Scrumptious this week and the optional challenge is to frame it. I love this frame! Not for any obivious reason like my favorite sweet maggies but for a whole lot of other reasons.

To start, Blowing Bubbles Magnolia was colored about 6 or more months ago. I have a lot of images that I just love to color. I hope you can see but her wings are all glitter and sparkle and so is her trumpet?, not sure what to call it.

The paper just arrived at our new local craft store. It's by Bo Bunny and it's GORGEOUS! I need to get more! I used my Slice Machine to cut the word JOY out. I have had this little machine for a year now and just never really take it out. I need to change that.

Oh and finally another favorite I embossed the edges of my paper for the appearance of frost. I got that nifty technique from Magnolia Ink. I flipped/mirrored out sketch, I hope you can see it.

Well what to do think? I took this over to my local scrapbook shoppe and she held on to it for display. When I returned on Tuesday so that I can take it home and photograph it, she locked the door on me!!!

Come join us this for our last challenge this year. AND don't forget to return back in January for a New Year of fun!!

Watercoloring class

I was invited to teach a class at our new local scrapbook store, A Scrapbook Store and More! (website coming soon!) Since leaving SU I haven't taught a class or workshop for at least 6months and last night I realized that I missed it. I had so much fun with a group of wonderful ladies that didn't give themselves enough credit. They picked up on distress watercoloring like old pros!!

Here are the cards we worked on. I kept it the cards simple so we can focus on the coloring. I really enjoyed watching them all get the hang of my favorite medium. I bought some of my favorite Magnolia cards for samples and I know I have at least the Paula (owner) and Karen hooked! LOL!!!

These stamps are from Heartfelt Creations and wow they have gorgeous stamps! Just another addiction....

Thanks again for a great time, ladies!
