I have a question, do you color your images first then find the paper to match or do you find your paper then color your image? I'm asking because a week or so ago when my friend Suzanne came over she watched me as I searched for paper to assemble my stamped and colored image. I never really noticed that I color before I pull paper out. I guess I do it this way because I am always excited to stamp and color. I always have in the back of my mind an idea of the paper I want to use and figure that I have sifted through my "stash" for so long I have an idea of what I own.
Anyway , this past week, in giving some thought to what Suzanne suggested, I decided to do the opposite for me. I sat and pulled paper and accessories together...then....I went blank. STUCK in RUTT!!
I guess my brain is backwards, ask my family and friends and they will agree. LOL! Honey Tilda arrived in the mail this week and without second thought I sat down and just colored. I found the paper later...the Mojo Monday challenge just helped in putting it together. She's colored with Prisma Pencils and her wings are stickled. What do you think?
Challenges she qualifies for
Simon Says Stamp: Things with Wings
Mojo Monday: Sketch
Thanks for stopping by,

I think you did an awesome job!!! Great flower with the punched edges. Your colouring is terrific.Love your card layout as well :o)
ReplyDeleteI think you ought to do what you are most comfortable doing.
'I' pick out my image, then find some paper I like - then colour to match the paper. I started doing it that way because when I did it the other way I couldn't always find paper to match the colours I had painted with!

Love this card!

Your card is wonderful! I don't think it matters which you do first, do what works for me. Sometimes I have paper that I know will make a great card and color to go with that paper. I think that most of the time I color first, as I am building my copic colors
ReplyDeleteLisette your card is adorable! You did an amazing job coloring Tilda with prisma pencils!
ReplyDeleteI always start by finding my papers and embelishments first, this is just easier for me.
Absolutely adorable!!!! Love the colors and paper layering! Pat Frank (VA)

I think your card is very cute. It will put a smile on someone's face!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute card! Well done... love it.
ReplyDeleteI pick the image, then the paper, then colour. I had this same question when I started a few weeks back; then I realized I would save myself a lot of searching if I did it this way.
Regardless, though, do what comes best to you! Obviously it's working!
Your Tilda is adorable! I color a lot first too... I even cut my image out before I color most of the time! lol

I love everything about this! The coloring, the punch work and the color combos. Kudos on a job well done!!

Oh she's a cutie, love the pretty warm colors. I choose my papers first, then my image then my colors. That way if my papers have butterflys I tend to look for an outdoor image, hope this helps!!

Lisette: This is so cute. It is so bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a darling card- love the bright colors! TFS
ReplyDeleteDo what works for you. I also asked the same thing recently at a class. I find my self being to picky about the colors matching just right so if I pick the paper first I can color it to the shade of paper I have. You did a great job of putting this card together. I really like the little flowers you put down the left side.

This is beautiful Lisette! Bee Tilda is so cute sitting on your beautiful flower! I choose a sketch, then the image I want to use and then the paper. Then I get down to the coloring...
ReplyDeleteThis is priceless. You did a wonderful job. I love my Maggie's, so I play/color a bunch when I want to and then find something(paper/embellishments) that will go with it. If I am in a hurry to make a card, at least I have a few Maggie's colored and ready. You will soon find what works best for you, so keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Femy
Love that flower you on the back of the adorable Tilda. It looks so cheerful and fun. Great job!

What a cheery card. It is so pulled together. I always color first and then go looking for paper. For me it is the image that is important and the rest is the supporting cast.
